Glamping

Nice, we have been looking in to a trailer too. I love tent camping but my wife is a loser. She just had another kid so as soon as he is 1-ish I think we will finally get one. I just need to check the tow capacity of my truck configuration.

I got the bunk house model. The kids have their own bed and bathroom. We still have to share the shower. This is what I take with me when I’m out working. But is used for glamour camping when I’m home. Its great when the wife and kids come see me in some random state I’m working in.

Do your research before buying and ask everyone you can about shit that can go wrong. Trust me it’s a great time but just spent 1200 on having it reseem sealed. Took it to Alva this week and found out the propane heater didn’t work now. 🤬. Got to get that fixed now.

Great advice! Check every system before you hand over the money. I own an RV park, and I see it all the time. Someone will buy an RV and bring it out. They connect everything only to find that there is a major water leak, or something else major doesn’t work.

I’m not an RV repairman, but I’ve been around them for over 20 years. I’ve seen just about everything that can go wrong with them. If anybody has any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

I don’t know if you consider it glamping or not but we are currently in the backyard in a tent. We had t-bones for dinner, s’mores for dessert, they’re sleeping on an air mattress and just finished watching a movie on the iPad. Not really camping but as a five and six year old, they love it!

Not bad for the first day of winter…

I’ve been wanting to do this with my 4yr old. He would get a kick out of it I think.

I camped out with my grandson this summer, backyard but went old school. No electricity, no air mattresses just sleeping bags and pillows… well I am too old for that crap. Will be air mattresses from now on.

I sleep on a cot with a sleeping bag but I do use a sleeping bag pad that makes a big difference!

if i was to try that it would rain. I spent several thunderstorms a tent. I wouldn’t trade those days for nothing. the army gave me good shit to stay dry and warm. even when the wife and I went tent camping it was great times.

My wife and I camped old school this past summer. On the second morning, it sounded like we were having crazy sex, but it was just us trying to get to our feet. We now have an air mattress.

Is this like an air b&b thing and are you taking bookings?

What are y’all’s top camping spots? I plan on taking my boys for the first time this spring. Just not trying be next to some lake thunderbird people partying all damn night.

How far are you willing to drive?

just about anywhere for a weekend trip in Oklahoma.

K river campground is on my radar as a location. It’s just under 3 hours from Moore Oklahoma to Moyers Oklahoma

I love the blue river wma and sulphur (Chickasaw NRA) The creek in Sulphur is a lot more kid friendly. The blue can be hard on anyone who wades, but the trout bite pretty easy. Both are beautiful and I’ve never had neighbors more raucous than I was. Just don’t go on a holiday weekend and you should be fine. I’ve taken my 3 & 4 year olds to sulphur twice (not camping though) and really enjoyed ourselves in the park. I haven’t tried the blue with them.
